DESCRIPTION: Comfrey is a perennial herbaceous plant and is widely distributed in Serbia. The main and most important ingredient of comfrey root is allantoin, which stimulates the formation of new cells. In addition to allantoin, comfrey contains 18 amino acids, vitamins A, C, vitamin B complex, auxin, triterpenoids, tannins, rosmarinic acid, steroid saponins, inulin and pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Contains micro- and macroelements: potassium, calcium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, aluminum, selenium, manganese and zinc.

USE: The main pharmacological activity of comfrey root extract is to stimulate tissue regeneration, and it exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-edematous and astringent effects.

It is used for the treatment of damaged ligaments, joint inflammation, rheumatic pains, wounds that are difficult to heal, relieves complaints of broken bones, inflamed and prominent veins, inflammation and pain of tendons, blood vessels, damage to vertebrae. It is also used for massaging the joints on the hands and feet, the skin on the elbows.
